A Large Sashiko Stitched Furoshiki: Folding Fan and Kanji

This is a fairly large, very nice, indigo dyed cotton furoshiki, a traditional wrapping or carrying cloth.  

The cloth, which is entirely hand stitched from four panels, shows white sashiko stitching on two of the cloth's borders and also on two opposing corners.  

On the top, left hand corner we see chain stitching in the form of a slightly wobbly double circle which is enclosing an image of a folding fan emblazoned with the symbol of the Japanese flag.   On the opposite corner we see the name Kawa Goe stitched in a running stitch, the name indicating the family that owned this furoshiki.

In very good condition, and of sturdy, good, indigo dyed cotton, this is a really lovely furoshiki from old Japan.
