An Indian Enameled Metal Sign: English, Hindi, Gujarati

This is a curious, fun and handsome thing: it is an enameled metal sign from India--and one that has visual interest on each of its sides.

The proper, front, side is a ground of vermilion  and white enamel that announces "enquiries" in English, Hindi and Gujarati.  The back of the sign is another sign entirely which shows flaking paint and a fragment of an envelope bearing an address.

The sign has a bit of a bow or curve; it does not lay entirely flat.

But what a lovely thing to own.
