An Extremely Good Boro Panel: Age and Hand Spun Cotton Yarns

$195.00 USD

late nineteenth, early twentieth century
58" x 13", 147 cm x 33 cm

This is a wonderful indigo dyed cotton boro panel, one with good age, old hand spun cotton cloth, rustic stitching and rich layering. It is also visually interesting when viewed from the front or the back.

The colors of indigo that create this length are rich, warm and gradient. The stacking and layering of the patches is fantastically good.

When turned around there is a good sized tsutsugaki dyed pine tree on the top third of the length.

The abrasion the surface of the cloth is just right as is the age and tonal variation throughout it.

This is a very, very good boro panel. If you are considering acquiring a boro textile think of this one.

Very recommended.
