A Wonderfully Patched Pair of Work Trousers: Boro Tattsuke

$195.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
waist to cuff: 32", 81 cm
waist, measured across as shown: 16", 40.5 cm

This is a pair of work trousers called tattsuke; this type of pants were worn in the city as well as the country and were favored by women.

The pair is shown inside-out in order to highlight its wonderful patching which is rich, full, and varied in size, color, pattern and quantity.

The visual appeal of this pair of tattsuke is in its good age and in its many stitched patches. Rustic, very repaired work trousers of this very good quality are getting harder and harder to find, so it is with some pride that these are offered here.

Still very wearable, these balloon-like pants can probably enjoy some light wear--or they can be collected and treasured for their own beauty.

Really lovely.
