A Very Small Komebukuro: Brightly Colored Cottons

$25.00 USD

ca. mid twentieth century
4" x 4" x 4" or 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm

This charming and small drawstring bag is hand stitched from commercially produced cottons and was most certainly intended to be used by a young girl.

It is sewn from four pieces of cloth that have been set on the bias; the bag is lined in a kind of silk satin.

It seems that some of the cloth used to make this bag was taken from a girl's brightly colored kimono; the red figured cloth is a faux shibori.

A lovely, bright and cheery small bag.
