A Small Piece Constructed Cloth: Lightweight Cotton and Silk
$20.00 USD
ca. late nineteenth, early twentieth century
22" x 20 1/2", 56 cm x 52 cm
This simple and attractive boro textile is comprised of three pieces of cloth: a large, very lightweight indigo dyed blue cotton, a brown kasuri swatch and stenciled tsumugi or raw silk piece that has been stencil dyed showing a variant of the tatewaku or rising steam motif.
This is a simple and lovely boro cloth which can be admired for its inherent beauty, used as a home accessory, or put to use in fiber art projects.
A handsome and simple thing.
