A Short Length of Textured Kanoko Shibori: Puckers
$25.00 USD
ca. mid to late twentieth century
38" x 13", 96 cm x 33 cm
This intensely shibori-ed length of commericially produced cotton is all texture due to the countless tied puckers which create visual interest in this indigo dyed cloth.
Kanoko, or fawn-dappled, shibori shows regularly spaced dots which, obviously resemble the coat of a baby deer. This length is crammed with dots, each a little peak of cloth, and the texture is as lovely as the overall color, size and shape of this fragment.
