This is a lovely and beautifully colored sakiori obi, or a rustic, traditional kimono sash that is woven using shredded cloth as its weft yarn.
The warp yarns are red or brick colored cotton cotton and the weft yarns are fairly evenly spaced segments of tones of dull rose color with some narrow, multi-colored bars--red, green, indigo blue, purple, yellow--along the way.
This lovely obi is in good, used condition with no obvious stains, tears or damage.
A handsomely colored folk textile in an unusual color palette.
