A Resist Dyed Cotton Jacket: Handsome Colors and Good Design

$90.00 USD

mid to late twentieth century
shoulder to hem: 33 1/2", 85 cm
sleeve tip to sleeve tip: 48", 122 cm

This is very handsomely colored and dyed cotton jacket in colors of a warm brown, black, white and red.

The colors seem to be stenciled onto the garment rather than dyed, and the jacket is made by a combination of machine and hand stitching. It shows light wear.

On the proper front, collar, the kanji or Chinese characters can be translated to say something like "Independent art society," the group for which this jacket was made is not known.

Still the bold graphic pattern, the lovely colors, the relatively good condition and the wearability of this garment make it desirable and collectible.
