This attractive square of pieced, machine loomed plaid cottons is a furoshiki or a traditional wrapping/carrying/hauling cloth.

The sixteen squares of two plaids in alternating patterns are machine stitched together. The furoshiki is backed in a commercially milled cotton, also machine stitched to this front piece.

The combination of plaids is handsome and well thought out. Note a small, turquoise green hand stitched detail to the top, left hand corner.

In good, used condition with a bit of stretching to the center of the cloth due to its use in carrying items in its former life. The furoshiki does not lay perfectly flat.

Lovely.
