A Patched Length of Large Scale Kasuri: Indigo Dyed Cotton
$35.00 USD
early twentieth century
44" x 12", 111.75 cm x 30.5 cm
This is a lovely length of hand woven, indigo dyed cotton kasuri cloth that is fairly lightweight and well-worn. The indigo color is warm and beautiful.
The large-scale pattern indicates that this was used in the home as bedding. The two bars flanking the central repeat of interlocking squares suggest bamboo.
There are three patches to the surface of the piece which is somewhat abraded from wear and beautifully faded.
