A Patched and Mended Length of Mosquito Netting: Blue Tone

This is a section of indigo dyed hemp or ramie mosquito netting which is loosely woven cloth. As is easy to see from this length there is a large, cotton patch which covers most of the hemp base cloth.

The black stitching which adheres the patch to the base is lovely for its meandering quality. There is a silky whiteish patch that sits just above this central, large patch.

As is not unexpected the cloth itself is in used condition and shows scuffs, nicks and a small hole or two.

Boro kaya, or broken, mended mosquito netting such as this is, is always lovely to look at and would function beautifully as a home accessory or even as artwork if hung on the wall to be admired.
