A Long, Padded Cotton Zabuton: Eccentric Stitching
$45.00 USD
mid twentieth century
12 1/4" x 23", 31 cm x 58.5 cm
This oblong padded textile is a rectangle-shaped zabuton which is a traditional seating cushion.
It is made of indigo dyed cotton cloth and it shows some strange and wonderfully meandering white sashiko stitching on front and back. It is filled with cotton batting.
The interesting non-decorative geometric stitching is the key attraction of this cushion, along with it slightly unusual dimensions.
Still very usable.
