A Long Boro Length: Fascinating on Both Sides
$80.00 USD
ca. early to mid twentieth century
56" x 12 1/2", 142 cm x31.5 cm
This is a attractive boro panel from a futon cover; its base is comprised of two pieces of indigo dyed cotton on which there are hand stitched seven patches.
The bottom third of the boro piece is made of a lovely double kasuri or ikat cloth; the contrasting ikat patches are a nice touch.
What is lovely about this particular boro piece is that each of its two sides has a distinct personality--and each is lovely to look at.
A handsome length of boro cloth from old Japan.
