A Length of Patched Katazome Cotton

This is a nice-sized length of very faded old katazome dyed cotton: the cotton is hand woven from hand spun yarns which gives is a tactile beauty.

The pattern is that of stylized chrysanthemums that are drawn as white outlines, the result being a delicate, soft pattern overall.

Orange toned areas are highlights to the pattern and this patched side is the proper "reverse" side of the cloth, being shown for its subtle beauty and to show the four applied patches to the surface.

This is a good length of old katazome cotton that now bears a wonderful patina due to its age and a faded beauty that only time can bestow.
