A Length of Old Hand Plied Hemp: Rustic Length

This is a length of beautiful, old hand plied hemp kaya or mosquito netting. The yarns are wiry and rustic and the weave is exactly what you would want to see on an old length of country kaya.

The undyed color is a wonderful dull, medium-toned brown.

There are subtle warp-based striations built into the weave structure of the length, as well there are some faint areas of dark discoloration, barely noticeable.

The texture of this length is rich and rustic and the piece certainly is a true example of a Japanese country textile.
