This is a length of hand woven cotton: it is made of two striped pieces which have been hand stitched together to form one, long piece.
The stripe patterns are lovely, beautifully colored and narrow. The length shows abrasion from wear and some light fading, but these characteristics add flavor to the piece and mark it as being from old Japan.
Fine colors and a great striped pattern.
