A Length of Kumo Shibori: Large Scale Spiderweb Pattern

$30.00 USD
early twentieth century
28 1/2" x 13 1/4", 72.5 cm x 33.5 cm

This is a length of indigo dyed cotton kumo shibori or shibori that has been shape resist dyed in the tie dye method, the result being this field of large scale kumo or spiderwebs.

This length is taken from a yukata or an unlined, casual summer kimono; as such there are ingrained creases and some light wear to the length.  Note the evidence of binding each of the spiderwebs by the presence of resisted, white lines on each of the "spiderwebs."

This is a length of  handsome, hand made shibori.
