A Length of Katazome Dyed Cotton: Lush Peonies

This indigo dyed katazome cotton length shows a repeat pattern of lushly-petaled, large-scale peonies. They are set against a dark blue background that shows arabesques and which is illuminated by white dots.

There is an ochre tone which is generously distributed to both the flowers, leaves and arabesques which serves to enliven the already full design.

This is a really nice length of old katazome dyed cotton with a traditional pattern that is beautifully realized.
