A Length of Kasuri Dyed Cotton: Unsual, Complex Design
$90.00 USD
early twentieth century
58 1/2" x 12 3/4", 148.5" x 32.5 cm
This is a length of kasuri dyed, indigo cotton that shows an unusual pattern.
Shown is a complex rendition of a Japanese invention, the folding fan. Next to it, staggered in the same was as the folding fan, is an abstract motif of curious origin: no idea what it is meant to symbolize, if anything, but it is certainly interesting to see.
The length is in good, used condition. The indigo is still deeply toned and the cloth shows no discernable flaws, holes or stains.
Recommended for its unique--almost futuristic--motif.
