A Length of Indigo Dyed Shibori Cotton: Rich Pattern

$40.00 USD

early to mid twentieth century
37" x 13 3/4", 94 cm x 35 cm

This is a nicely designed and executed length of indigo dyed cotton shibori which shows an unusual pattern of indeterminate motif.

The repeat design could be some kind of stylized fan or leaf--or it could just be an invented design that has a kind of Art Deco feel.

This length was taken from a yukata or an unlined, casual cotton kimono and as such it still bears ingrained creases from its former life.

Overall the condition is good and used and most importantly this is a very nicely done piece of deeply dyed and colored shibori showing an unusual design motif. The cotton is machine loomed and is lightweight.

Just beautiful.
