A Length of Handsome Striped Cotton: Hand Woven

This is a length of beautifully designed, hand woven striped cotton. The cotton yarns seem hand spun.

The design is simple: there are two wide striped areas each made of several vertically-oriented, symmetrically arranged parts. The color is a beautiful combination of very deep blue, a mid-range blue, white and a kind of muted ochre tone.

In good condition and still quite sturdy, this length from an old futon cover is a good example of home weaving from Japan.
