A Length of Beautifully Faded Boro Cotton: Katazome Irises

This is a beautifully faded length of indigo dyed katazome cotton; the length is hand stitched from two distinct pieces.

There are four applied patches to the length, their color and saturation are in lovely contrast to the base cloth which shows a repeat pattern of stylized irises.

The cloth has a lovely hand and it seems hand woven from hand spun cotton yarns. The color, too, is noteworthy as the indigo has faded to a nice, warm pale blue.

A very attractive length of old katazome cotton and one that shows a beautiful contrast of patches to the figured base.
