A Kasuri Zokin #1: Traditional Dustrag
$18.00 USD
ca. mid twentieth century
9" x 12", 23 cm x 30.5 cm
This zokin, or sashiko stitched dustrag, is sewn from layers of cotton cloth which are then sashiko stictched together.
What makes this zokin so interesting is that it is sewn from hand loomed kasuri or ikat cottons: the play of white, short stitches against the woven pattern of the kasuri cloth is just lovely and visually very interesting.
The indigo blue of the cotton is still rich and intense; this traditional dustrag will make a wonderful home accessory.
A lovely thing.
