A Kasuri Cotton Boro Panel: Dark Indigo Dye

$65.00 USD

ca. early twentieth century
62" x 13 1/4", 157.5 cm x 33.5 cm

This length of indigo dyed, hand woven cotton is a lovely, deeply toned, double kasuri, or an ikat where the warp and weft yarns were resist dyed.

The look of this cloth is very handsome, the simple kasuri being an elegant pattern.  The boro panel is hand stitched from two, distinct pieces and onto this base cloth were also hand stitched seven, separate patches, all cotton.

A really lovely, subtle and good-looking old boro cloth with a great deal of surface detail and visual appeal.
