A Hand Carved Woodblock: Tight Arrangement of Floral Motif

This lovely object is a hand-carved wood block which would have been one of several used in creating a colorful wood block print: each of its two sides is carved with a design of a crowd of tightly bunched flowers.

The block still shows evidence of the colored ink that was used to imprint a design on to paper, and there are hand written references on each of its sides.

A really charming object that piques curiosity and in itself is a beautiful thing.
