This is a length of hand loomed cotton that was taken from a larger piece, a futon cover.
The cotton is densely woven and very durable, and by its good, strong condition it seems as if it was not used very hard during its lifetime. Further evidence of this is its wonderful, still-intense coloration which is limited to a palette of three colors: very inky indigo, a velvety deep green, and a sienna brown.
A beautifully restrained color situation, this length of cotton is extremely handsome and durable.
