A Dark Brown Colored Sakiori Obi: Small Tear

This is a sakiori obi or a kimono sash that is hand woven from shredded cotton yarn. The warp is cotton and the weft is made of torn cotton pieces.

This obi shows a rich, chocolate brown color that is achieved by an arrangement of stripes in a tight tonal spectrum The rag weft yarns alternate in colors of brown and black-is blue and the warp yarns are of black threads, deepening the overall color of the obi.

The obi shows one, small tear (detailed in the accompanying photographs) and it is in good, used condition. Its rich, earthy coloration is really beautiful.
