A Cotton Panel from a Futon Cover: Kasuri and Stripes
$65.00 USD
ca. early to mid twentieth century
64" x 13", 162.5 cm x 33 cm
This is a very handsome, large scale, kasuri and striped cloth with very interesting coloration and design.
This is a panel from what was undoubtedly a futon cover; the cotton is very tightly woven and is nicely heavy to the touch. The bold design is a combination of golden colored and green and orange warp-based stripes which are interspersed by a staggered design of resisted white kasuri well cover patterns. Very good-looking.
The hand woven cotton is in very good condition and is free of any noticeable stains or snags.
Just lovely.
