This is a lovely, old sample brochure which shows twenty different samples of kasuri or ikat cotton cloth.
The book is made of cardboard whose front and back leaves open. In the center is an accordion-folded heavy paper insert to which the twenty samples are attached. Due to use during its life as a dyer's sample book, the cloth hinges which serve to open the leaves are a bit feeble, but they are still intact.
A wonderful book of beautiful kasuri patterns--and an item that is increasingly hard to find in Japan.
