This is a vintage zabuton or seating made from a katazome like cotton in the classic chrysanthemum and karakusa or trailing vine motif. The cushion is completely hand sewn with quilting details stitched in red cotton thread; corner tufts are of green cotton. The cushion is stuffed with cotton batting, as is tradition in Japan.
As these zabutons are vintage, they are used, and each has a very slight condition issue which hardly distracts from enjoying the piece: please look carefully at detail photos where flaws to each piece are shown, and more details are noted here: VERY faint discoloration--a 1" diameter--to front and back. Difficult to see.
