This layered, sashiko stitched indigo dyed noragi or work coat shows the patina of a great deal of wear, as can be seen in the lovely, faded indigo cotton of its exterior, which is still very much intact and unabraded from years of use.
The lining is of broadly striped cotton, the rows of sashiko stitching which quilt the lining to the exterior, run discreetly along the stripes.
This is a really lovely piece which is still very much wearable: it has a lot of life left in it and is very much able to provide warmth and comfort--imagine the maker of this coat and what they would think knowing their very own jacket will most likely find a new life on the other side of the globe!
A really nice thing to own. Some frays along the hem and a small repair to the front collar area.
