Superlatives do not do this little, illustrated book of Chinese zodiac signs justice.
Each of the twelve signs--and an additional five images that are unrelated--are superbly and sensitively rendered.
Using minimal brush strokes, perfect placement on each page, a fabulous sense of design, and touching the brush to the page in just the right way with just the right amount ink on the brush, the artist who created this accordion book of images was clearly a wonderfully trained artist.
Viewing these images on a computer monitor robs them of the delicacy of touch each possesses; they are each magical in their simple perfection and each of the zodiac signs, embodied by twelve different animals, is imbued with a kind of charm and spirit that is truly delightful.
As the book is 130 years old, there are worm holes, howver this does not interfere with the enjoyment of any of the images, each of which is a treasure.
Very highly recommended.
