One panel from what was most likely a futon cover, this indigo dyed cotton boro fragment has two quirky sashiko mendings, top and bottom: they appear almost cartoon like in their gestural stance and are a wonderfully appealing feature of this hand loomed cloth. The long, white stitches surrounding these small mendings add a graphic note to this cloth, which in and of itself is full of personality.
