A Beautiful Boro Sashiko Furoshiki: Gorgeous Patches
$175.00

ca. early twentieth century
42" x 37", 107 cm x 94 cm

Just a beautiful boro textile. This is an indigo dyed furoshiki, or wrapping cloth, which has been well-used and repaired with 24 patches, one of them being a very lovely katazome patch on the bottom, center.

The two opposing corners of the furoshiki are stitched in the chrysanthemum motif, the proper left top corner is stitched in the shape of a kanji, or Chinese character. Unusual and beautiful is the addition of the resist dyed fan on the bottom, right corner.

A gorgeous, collectible piece: highly recommended.
