A Sakiori Obi: A Rich, Dark, Brown-Grey
$90.00

ca. mid Twentieth century
112" x 6 1/2", 286 cm x 16.5 cm

This richly colored, densely textured and thickly woven sakiori obi is woven from recycled and shredded cloth: in this case it appears that a deep brown colored kasuri (ikat) kimono was used to create the weft yarn for this obi.

On one side of the piece there is some evidence that there were lateral folds to the length of the piece as the obi shows some very light wear; the other side does not show any distress.  This obi is in fine shape and is intact.

A beautiful, subltle and rich piece.

Recommended.
