A very good-looking sakiori obi which is woven from (mainly) cotton rag weft against a cotton warp: it appears the warp was created from left-over kasuri, or ikat, yarns.
The colors in this obi are very good: earth tones overall, however there are some weft areas of brighter greens and yellows, with the occasional silver or gold sliver, presumably garnished from old kimono or from mizuhiki, the ceremonial gold or silver cording used on gifts and ceremonious notes.
Do note on the final meter of this obi there is some slight unravelling to the weft yarns, shown on detail photos attached.
Beautiful.
