This is a really handsome, han haba, or half-width, sakiori obi or a rustic kimono sash that has been woven from shredded cotton clothing and bedding.
The warp is a laxly spaced white cotton and the weft yarns are blocks of variegated blacks and greys (with a splash of deep red) which are interrupted by a regular sequence of mustard and white bars, inserted for variety.
A really lovely piece in great condition.
