ca. mid Twentieth century
136" x 5 1/2", 348 cm x 14 cm
Long and woven half-width, or han haba, this lovely sakiori obi is made from a shredded cloth weft--some cotton and silk--against a white cotton warp. This white warp creates a lovely, misty quality to the color of this sash, whose appeal no doubt has something to do with this subtle coloration.
Two coin-sized areas of slight loss to the weft are barely seen.
