Buddhist Pilgrim's coats
Over time, we will be offering Japanese Buddhist pilgrims' coats which are worn by ascetics as they make pilgrimage to the many temples of their sect. Often these temples are situated on a single holy mountain, and getting on foot from temple to shrine to temple is an act of faith and bravery. These pilgrims' coats are an outward manifestation of the faith of the wearer, who endured much hardship and penance in pursuit of perfecting his faith.
